Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Providing direct care to aging residents in long-term care facilities
• Collaborating with primary care physicians, facility staff and patients' families
• Participating in care conferences with other providers and patient family members
• Working with the facilities utilization review process
• Identifying patients' behavioral health issues
• Educating nursing home staff, physicians and administration
• Coordination of care for patients

• Graduate from an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current professional license and certification.

Nurse Practitioner

Salve Regina University currently seeks qualified candidates for a Registered Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive privileges that can carry full responsibility for the appropriate management of the young adult population, also to consult or refer, when indicated, with the Director of University Health Services and the consulting physicians.

Requirements: A master's degree is required. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized organization, a Rhode Island Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Rhode Island prescriptive privileges are required. Yearly maintenance of CEU's is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows software is desirable. Must have an interest in and ability to work with a traditional college-aged population as well as staff and faculty members. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, medical professionals, staff and faculty, parents and individuals involved in the health care industry. Initiative in approaching tasks is required along with the ability to organize work assignments for effective and expeditious completion. Must be able to handle stress and work in a team environment. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
